From a recent report 21% of the population in Egypt lives in multidimensional poverty, lacking access to basic necessities. Homelessness is a visible issue in urban areas, with millions, individuals and families including children, living on the streets. Thousands of areas are used for irregular dwellings, where people build makeshift shelters. This problem is exacerbated by rapid urbanization and lack of affordable housing. The government has made strides to address this crisis, but challenges remain in providing safe and secure housing for all Egyptians.
